You can chuck them whole in the microwave for four minutes and they cook in the husk, just makes it hot to peel them  your microwave might take longer mine is a 1200 watt job 8)

I also throw them on the barbie in their husks and cook them, the outside catches fire but it gives a lovely smokey tatse to the corn.

Boiling them in water just makes the corn taste watery to me

On the grill they should go. Fresh picked corn, gently peal open the husk, remove the silk, butter the cob up, reseal the cob with the husk and on the grill they go! Best thing since sliced bread!
I dont know nothing about jockeys Ell. I'm a boxer man myself.
I know too much information.
Sorry.
Keep up the good work!

:pale: Oh woe is me :pale:

DW checked the rain gauge this morning and we had 47mm (all in a very short period), first noise I heard after the news was the thump – whock – whoosh of the actuator valve and thought the system was running smoothly

Entered the garage and something did not seem right – power was off and the system was running on backup :fantastic: ...reset the circuit breaker and all went back to normal with battery charger on and pumps all pumping :D

So now comes the woe part

Heard the pump, the one used to pump out water from around the sump tanks, running so lifted the cover and saw the water level (rain water that had leaked into and around the sump tanks) was very high but the water was being pumped out at a rapid rate so no call for alarm YET!!!!!

It was about this time that I remembered what I had done the previous night :idea1:

Had spent the day setting up the new tank and filling with water – decided to empty one of the sump tanks and give it a good clean out before refilling and starting it all up (I had left it about ¼ full)
It rained that night – the circuit breaker tripped – the water level rose around the sump tanks – one tank only had minimal amount of water in it – that tank popped up and this morning was about 100mm (4”) out of its normal resting position – dirt and muck had filtered underneath it so that it wouldn’t sit flat again – :reindeer: emptied it fully – removed it – cleaned it – then put bloody 350 litres of water back in to it after levelling the base again
:reindeer: has very stiff and sore muscles now, it had to be done as more rain is forecast :angry5:

:pale: Oh Woe is me :pale:

:-( Steve don't be too harsh, I've found everytime I've laughed at misfortune, I've screwed up my AP the next day :-(

Sorry to hear it Les, but all in all it was an easy fix... no pipes broken, no dead fish...
