Aright, here is waht I can do for this thermostat. I didn't find the diagram, certainly lost.

It works with an LM393 comparator: http://www.national.com/pf/LM/LM393.html

List of components:

1 IC: National LM393
1 Resistor: Orange-Brown-Red-Black-Black. Sorry I forgott the codes.
1 Electrolytical capacitor: 100 microFarad (25 Volt)
2 variable resistors 100K Ohms
1 relay
1 thermic sensor. Don't know the value.
1 optional diode (what's the word in english?) Diod?

Now the pics. Please note the unsolded wire. I have no idea what this is. The other end is cut and I can't remember what it was attached too.

Sorry, It will be rather tricky to reproduce, but any questions just ask. I can make more pics.

1st 2 are the digits
third is number of zeros
last 2 are tolerance and stuff
I think that's 3.1k ohms

I didn't mention the gold bar, which is the tolerance.
Here is a closeup.

Could be cool. I'll try tuo use it again for another ponic system I got in mind. :)

Today was the second attempt to cycle the whole thing for a couple of hours. Previous tries were difficult. This one is safer. First the aquarium cannot emptied almost entirely like before. Holes in the siphon allow only 1/10 of the aquarium water to go to the growbed. After this the holes make the siphon stop.
And mostly, after the growbed, the tank is in another bigger tank in cases it overflows (happened before :) ).
I think I'm running safer this time. It rolls now for a couple of hours, appears to be safe.

I'm going to print it and put it on my walls. Sounds like the basics of indoor aquaponics!!

Last night, I had a very good surprise: 10-15, I cannot count them, small guppies are born.
I had put the males in the buffer tank, along with the goldfish so that the females guppies are quiet. Good idea I had. Now I can see very small babies swimming.
I prepared a third tank for the two most beautiful ones. I wait for their babies with impatience!

My system is now safe (I think ;) ) I can cycle the water with nothing spilling around. In case things get worse, there is a few security. So from now I can keep the water inside the tanks and avoid electrocutions. Mostly.
Just wondering what else will happend now...

Excellent Fred! I started with 4 (2 boys 2 girls) the boys died. some fungus among us. Then I bought 4 more (2 boys 2 girls) the boys and one girl died, again a fungus among us. Keep new fish seperated, and treat for the illness.
Well anyway I now have 3 of the orignal gups and 30 of thier offspring, all healthy and happy.
So congrats on your babies, you may very well find they will overun the house, like rabbits they are. Pretty handy, the female can just think of her last time and be pregnant again.

Starting with guppies was difficult for me too. The 4 first died. Now I'm sure I'll have healty and strong fish. I plan to put some in the pond next year, during the hot season. The goldies come from there and they don't seem to bother all my experiments. All they care for is food.

Hey!
More than 6 month without updating my topic?
Just for the news, my indoor system is getting better and better. Still wetting floors from time to time, but this is getting anecdotic.

I now have several elements in my living room:

- Aquarium, filter & tomatoes
- Recuperated fridge with green plants
- Planned: 350 liters aquarium & vertical vegetal wall
- Seedlings & nursery for guppies

This is this last 'device', let's call it the nursery. I'd like to show some pictures:
