Got a GB that is the top half of an ibc with one of the smaller screw on lids. I stupidly thought I had sealed it properly with a thick bead of sikaflex on the thread then screwed the lid on. I didnt test it (read dickhead here) So tomorrow when I get another bed in place so I can transfer the gravel out , what is the best was to seal one of these lids?????????????? |

They have a breather in the lid (well the red ones do) Otherwise, cut a piece of IBC out that will cover the lid from the inside, and sikaflex that down. IBC piece and lid = no leaks. |

Hey Mantis been trying to use the link about the dickhead, I didnt test it (read dickhead here) Well it doesn't work, would have liked to read about all the other dickheads around as well as myself.

Yeah well I am a double dickhead today. Put third bed in place and transferred gravel from leaky to it. Patched up leaky and looked at the new bed and its sloping badly. Didnt check that it was sitting on the redgum planks properly did I , and it slipped off onto the bessa blocks. DOH I just love moving gravel |

hey mantis the breather valves have a tab that you can strip back, if its full and its leaking out of the breather pull the tab and pump some sikaflex up in there and around the opening |
