Hey folks

I just bought one of these from ebay and it arrived yesterday. I paid $50 with free postage. I plan to use it for when I am away and then only have to rely on someone else to do the general daily checks.

Not bad value when compared to some feeders out there.

I will let you know how it goes when I test it this week.

Specifications are;

Dimensions: 19.8cm in diameter, 26.2cm in height
Program up to 4 feedings per day
E-Z-Set Control Panel with Soft-rubber buttons, large LCD display with digital clock
Adjustable food portion sizes
16 cup/3.8L food tank capacity
1 to 90 days programmable feeding schedule
Weather-resistant-keeps out moisture-keeps food fresh
Runs on 4 'C-cell' alkaline batteries(not included)
Low battery indicator
Free-standing or mountable with included brackets
Detachable food tank for easy cleaning
Food drops directly into fish pond

If it's actually a fish feeder, or a pet feeder....

If it's a pet feeder, then you'll probably find anything smaller than a 4-6mm pellet will fall straight through...

Just be careful.........

Personally I don;t really like fish feeders, I reckon you are better off leaving your fish without feed for a while rather than run the risk of them getting overfed.

The couple times I've had to go away I put mine on 50% rations to what they would normally get.
Interested in knowing how it goes long term. Might be more reliable if replaced batteries with a DC plugpack?

Yeah, was wondering how long the batteries might last myself....

Especially when the unit has to turn against the weight of larger pellets...

Let us know how they go...

Fairly easy each battery is 1.5 volts. I suspect it will run on either 3volts or 6 volts.
Every battery that connects negative to positive (series) increases the voltage by 1.5v. Hardest part might be figuring how the battery holder is wired.

I've got 2 feeders atm. One is a small eheim one I used when they were fingerlings. The other is a shaker feeder Link I am probably going to try and resell. Too noisy and one of the neighbors complained after a couple weeks.
