If I have a grow bed that is 30inches by 6 feet and I want a media height of 10", how much hydroton would I need. It comes in 50L bags at the local hydro store for $35. I need to know what kind of cost I'm looking at.

Thanks

Basic maths.

30" * (6 * 12") * 10 = 21,600 cubic inches = 354 litres.

So you need 7 bags. = $245

i went with about 1/2 hydroton and 1/2 river gravel, quite a bit cheapr (and i found hydroton for $20/50l last year) and it works well
if money was not object, i'd go all hydroton
