So I have filled 5 out of my 6 growbeds (which are IBCs cut in half) with gravel and this last one has been giving me some trouble. At first I think the teflon I put on the uniseal was too uneven so that made the fitting leak. SO I took it off and reapplied the teflon, put some silicone on it and installed it. Now there is a tiny leak, like one tiny drip. Would applying more silicon fix this problem? Thanks for any advice I can get. |

If it's a really small leak you might want to just leave it, we had a couple of small drips that just fixed themselves when a bit of bio-film build up, happened in a matter of a couple of days up to a week.... |

I had a small leak in a fitting go for 9 months without sealing itself. It may be a permanent leak. |

I thought that silicone and uniseals was a no no? Teflon? I thought you jusy used a bit of lubricant to get the pipe into the uniseal? |

You are correct. The outward pressure from the PVC installed through the grommet makes the seal. Same with bulkheads. You wouldnt believe how many people silicone bulkheads. Old hole saws are a big contributer to leaky uniseals. |

I had to use teflon and silicone because I had already drilled the holes for a different type of fitting before I got the uniseals. They have been holding up for the past couple of weeks, hopefully it won't be a problem in the future?
