Who has used what in regard to pond liner for growbeds with or without success, in particular what thickness was the liner? I know some people have used 200um builders plastic but I am leaning toward using proper liner to esure longevity. I am planning on filling it with pea gravel and hydroton and it will be lining a timber frame. If anyone has found any cheap suppliers in Perth or seen offcuts in a fishshop reduced please let me know, I only need a 2x2.5m sheet. Cheers, Mike |

I recently heard talk of a SPRAY ON LINER I don't know much about it, just that you build your tank, spray it on, wait for it to dry and voilla! Oh and it's only $20/sqm or some such. This only raises questions, sorry burnsy it doesn't answer you at all. |

EPDM or Pondguard is the best product. Comes in 1.14 and 1.52mm thick - maybe a thinner one too. Rubber and can be glued. folded and its stretches so conforms to tank better Also its not slippery in case someone falling in is a worry, also it is heavier than water so IF water does get under it it wont try to float to the top of the water. Fully fish safe Im not sure what it sells for at retail stores and theres a limited number of places it can be purchased. |

Thanks guys, I have a fish tank and this is to line a hardwood growbed that I started 10 months ago and have not had time to finish http://www.backyardaquaponics.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=6766&start=0&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&hilit=hardwood I was hoping to find some experience with what has stood up to having grow media in it without puncturing under the weight. |

I have used Canvacon landmark for all my growbeds which is food grade and fairly thick and have not had a problem with it.But I am lucky in that every thing that I use is made from scrap from work.It may not look as nice as some do but it works. |
