Heres what i used 1 x 40mm reducing T 40 x 25 at take off 1 x 3/4" x 1" poly director 1 x 100mm length 19mm poly pressure glue PVC 2 x 12mm long button head stainless screws around 8ga the T in the pic is 40 x 40 with a 40-25 reducer.. but you can get 40 x 25.. i just had none left the one installed is 40 x 25 see pics for how it looks put the 19mm poly on the director barb and press it into the 25mm socket on the T, you will need to shorten the poly a little. I made mine so it sat on the base of the T. once this length is correct, remove the director and poly piece and cut a section out of one side of the poly. Run a little glue around the edge of the 25mm take off and press the director back in.... i put more glue on around this after i installed the director.. (more IS more)...make sure the cut out faces one ond of the 40mm T and then install the two screws into the side of the 25mm take off. this locks the director from turning when you put a fitting on it as there is not much of an adhered surface contact. give it a few minutes to dry and put it inline. I put a VTOA (valve take off adaptor) socket one end fem thread the other) and a short length of pvc just in case it wants to push some water out at start up... but it didnt. This is how i did mine, if it works for others, great.

flow comes around the poly past the cut out, not directed at the cut out... so in the pic looking at the cutout.. you would get wet.. and aired at the same time

Just one thing , I noticed you used PVC solvent on the poly, YEH NA, two different plastics, You'll need to use silicon if it actually does become a problem leaking, I see it all the time in my profession, what people don't understand is that it isn't a glue, it is a solvent which melts the PVC plastic to weld 2 PVC joints together, so it's a bit like trying to weld aluminium with mild steel. |

thats correct, it amalgamates the two parts. I have done retic for a handful of years ( thats why i asked you about the price comparison to total E) I have done this with fittings before for my own things and have never had any trouble with leaks. That being said, everywhere i have done this, it was not under high pressure. The reason i called it glue is so that people will understand it easier. |

I'm in the shop today, I've built a venturi before for vacuuming sand from the bottom of my spa. I'm gonna play around with some parts in the shop today see what I can come up with, I also have an Idea for aeration from the drain I will see how it goes with mine then I'll have to figure out how to upload, hehehe, new challenge to look forward too. What is it you want me to compare prices ? if it's hydroton I have got some wholesale price list. I am waiting on Canna to get back to me also, then I have to work out what to retail it at. See If we can compete. still in negotiations ATM. |
