Hey Guys

iv spent yesterday setting myself up a small system just with what i can find around the place.

iv used White Quartz Pebbles that i have around the house, the main problem is even though i washed them as i was going (pretty roughly) there is still a fair amount of small bits of tan bark and sticks leaves etc i am pulling it all out as much as i can.

My main question is Before planting in it should i take them all out and wash again, try to get it all out.. or will it not matter too much, the water is pretty clean going through it had it cycling all night and iv just drained out the there was a fair bit of dirt in the bottom of my tank so iv washed it out will fill it again when i decide weather or not too remove my media and give it another clean....

My media had plenty of leaves, wood chips and other debris mixed into it when I started. I too tried to keep as much of those things out but it was impossible to scoop all of it out. The important part is to rinse away as much sand and dust as you can.
