I've been cruising the internet for greenhouse kits and I stumbled on this hydroponic set up. Does this look like it could be used for aquaponics? I don't think I'd order one from them, but I'm interested in the design. http://www.farmtek.com/farm/supplies/pr ... 09313.html |

Toward the end of the description it reads: "May also be used for aquaponics (the cultivation of plants and fish)." |

Sorry had a problem with the edit button: Looks like it'll work for a shelf type AP system but the bottom "tank" looks a bit shallow for fish. For the price I wonder if you'd be better off with another kit or building your own. |

In principle, design and cost... it actually looks better than many of the other recent dinky-di hydro add-on... or "farm in a box" type systems that seem to have recently invaded the "aquaponics" market... Not sure about some of the practicality of the design when it comes to harvest/planting etc... |

I think you can do better on price, their listed prices on hoop houses are quite a bit over others I have seen, and they are one layer of plastic not two. Its an interesting site though. |
