Took a trip to Polyworld tanks – Qld company
http://www.polyworld.com.au/aquaculture.htm

The Polypond: (got the sales pitch that the price goes up on Monday to $485)
this is 1530l (330g) 1950mm diam * 630mm deep flat bottomed and stepped with a 25mm outlet, very sturdy and designed as an animal water trough, this is ideal and is especially suited to MF’s centripetal design for removing solids from the tank.

The Tankmasta round trough as used by Marcus is similar (services southern states)
http://tankmastacomau.ozstaging.com/ruralProducts.aspx

Troughs – too deep and narrow from what I envisaged plus the cost for 1250l (as pictured) is $820.

Nick, if you haven’t ordered one the price is going up, also there is a 10-12 week wait on orders (see what you mean about the large one – I’ve got the room but not the guts to front the wife after “Please explain” - maybe system iii)

Steve – forgot the camera but apart from that it was pretty busy and I’m not sure it would have been appreciated if I had asked:
“Everyone move aside, need a pic for firey Steve”

El, check out this site (or freecall 1800 777 994) if you have any interest in IBC's. They quoted me a cleaned to food grade standard IBC for $275. You can also get other less quality IBC's from $200. They are located out Beaudesert way.

Thanks Andy - I had actually sent off a query to them on FRiday afternoon re there round tubs and rectangular feeder troughs for prices and still waiting a reply, will put up there response when I receive it, Coopers Plains is only a cut lunch from Caboolture.

For anyone interested - if you go to Tilkeys and click on "Feed Troughs", then click on picture of the round trough it gives a larger range of feed troughs - no codes or prices for them on the site tho :angryfire:

yeah I too was at poly world on friday so got the price. THey said to me it was a straight $485 where as I had a quote from them a while ago saying $440 or so. Yeah I would have ordered one if I could have gotten it in two weeks or so, but they said 8 weeks to me and I just said f#*k that in my head and walked out. Yeah I was drooling too, they are so good but that is a long wait

We bought our 10,000 litre rainwater tank from Polyworld and it was because of the quality of their tanks rather than the quality of their service. They would do well to undertake a short course on how to really treat customers.

I know mate, I keep weighing up whether I need that size tank, then putting the grow beds with it, right now I am running up the little system and gaining valuable knowledge in AP whilst pricing everything available for a more robust setup - but yes, I have your site logged and keep comparing , thanks Murray.

I also enjoy the subtlety u display in unobtrusively dropping the site in - keep it up :bounce:

Received some more information on fish tanks/growbeds, but 1st a plug for Murray, Muzza is a forum member and has set the standard with his purpose built fibreglass tanks found at:
http://www.aquaponics.net.au

Tilkey sent me some brochures and Brisbane prices, all prices rounded off and transport costs intra/interstate not known:
http://www.tilkey.com.au/listing_browse.php?type=Tanks
IBC (1000l) food grade $275..............(they also listed A,B & C grade IBC’s ranging from $250 -> $200)
Handy tub (200l) $110 - 990mm * 600mm * 470mm
Drums 200l plastic food grade $35

Feed & water troughs
400l round diam 1175mm * 425mm height $170
1000l round d-1500mm h-570mm $445
2000l round d-2.4m h-600mm $570

400l breeding boxes 1260 * 640 * 500mm $105
600l budget trough 1870 * 1050 * 320mm $105 – black (green is $20 extra)
the budget trough would need some side support - you get what you pay for

This gives an idea as to what is available and approximate costs, smaller containers were also on the list but it is just as easy to visit a local plastics warehouse, if any further info is needed just post here or contact Tilkey
