Hi, Would it be worth using a fibreglass fish pond for a small system. I'd say its been in the ground for around 10 years (in sand), so I wonder whether it would be too brittle to move. Also, would I need to coat it with anything to make it food safe? At a very rough guess I'd say its volume is around 300L. Where it is now, it is likely to be filled in and forgotten about. |

That is exactly what I did and have had no problems at all. Check my system..viewtopic.php?f=18&t=2598&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&hilit=peterall+s+system As for coating, I used acrylic paint as my ponds were bright red. This system has been running since late 2007 with no issues. |

Thanks heaps for that. So, acrylic paint poses no problems? You said you used it because of the colour of the ponds - I don't have that problem, but do I need to coat the fibreglass to prevent anything leaching out of it? Nice looking system by the way. |

If it is 10 years old and has been outside all that time I reckon it will be fine. |
