we are in the process of setting up our first system. We are planning on putting fish in a 1000lt tank, and using 2 1000lt tanks sawn in half for grow beds. We are debating using another 1000lt tank as a sump, but i think if we are going to have that sort of space we should put fish in it and use a smaller sump. The guy at the plumbing place in town recommended a neptune eco 3000 for a pump. Does anyone have any comments about the suitablity of the pump? it is $400, and these are its stats... Dimensions: 245x130x140mm Power consumption: 40W Max flow Rate (l/min): 50 Max flow rate (l/h): 3000 Max Head hegiht (m): 3.2 Connection: 1" Cable Length: 10m Guarantee: 5 Years Cheryl |

are you asking what is the price, or saying the price is too much? we were quoted $400. Another pump guy recommended a ClearPond Infinity 2800 for $249. Cheryl |

i have a pondmate pm18000p 18000 lts per hr, 6m head, 250w it cost $350 . It has been running for 6mths no worries. It is great to have a high volume supply for additions or run it back to the ft for airation. Go bigger you wont regret it. Its a hobbie so go ahead and spend up, pimp your pump. |

My advice is don't skimp on the sump tank size since it makes adding to the system easier later if you already have an oversize sump. |
