I'm in need of a new pump, and can get this one for ~$200 http://www.ongapumpsales.com.au/VF150%2 ... %20Web.pdf Any reason why I should give it a miss? |

The only concern I can see is that it says water of neutral PH which may indicate seals are only standard quality and also the power consumption appears to go up to around 350w and according to the chart the lowest power consumption is 275w, you can get a Tornado pump to do around the same Pumping at 100 - 150w less but a slightly higher price, the Tornado also can run a float at around $30 more and handle solids of up to 8mm, How big is your system? and how much Head? pump has a good name but the price would indicate that the seals are again of standard quality, I could be wrong but I would tell the people that you are buying it from what you are using it for and maybe get a guarantee it will be suitable |

Oil lubricant in that one, also don't rate Onga anymore they were bought out by an American company. |

Agree with both the above posts, go for the Tornado's. |

How does the Tornado compare to an Ebara? |

Less power, same flow, but a lower head height. The ebara would probably pump water 8 metres high, but the tornados only go a couple before flow drops right off. I have 3 - 4 tornados running at any one time, no failures in 12 months now. |
