I'm currently looking at a 500L tank with a lid which they have at the B store currently for $79, which looks perfect to use as the sump in my new system. I was having a good look at it yesterday when I noticed it had "Not for drinking water" printed on the label. Its a polypropylene tank I think(has PP marked under the recyclable symbol).

Is this just a precaution printed on it by the manufacturer to prevent any possible liability or would there be an actual danger in using this for a sump in an AP system?

There were other similar tanks there made from the same material in a similar size which did not have any mention of not being safe but they werent as suitable as this one for my application.

There are a number of people using these as sumps. Also some, me included, use them as fish tanks.. Assuming it's the lime green coloured ones your talking about, like these in Scotts system.

Yep, that looks like them. I figured they'd be safe enough - just wanted to check first. Cheers for the info.
