Looking for a load of scoria to use as media in my new system. I need enough for 10 half barrel grow beds so am thinking a cubic meter should be plenty? I have found a place that will supply this for about $250-$300 inc delivery. Just wondering if anyone else has purchased scoria in these amounts and what you paid?

Where abouts in Melbourne? I just had 2.5 metres delivered for $137, you're getting SERIOUSLY ripped off to the value of some 600%!!!!!!!!!!!!

As I ordered a touch too little, I need another metre, this they will sell me for $61 delivered. (I just rang them for ya ;-) )

Yeah just done some more searching around landscaping suppliers and realised that was a bit rich! It was for hydroponic specific scoria but I cant see what would make it that much better than normal scoria. It was from this mob:

It actually gets cheaper the more you order - I think they prefer to deliver truck loads!

Thats pretty good - who was that from? I'm in Cheltenham. Do you think 1 cubic meter will be enough for 10 half barrels?

I'm in North Dandy, getting scoria from D'ABACO on Cheltenham Rd.

In the north here, no good for you... (maybe edit your profile and add your suburb for our convenience)
blue barrels are 200L half is therefore 100L so 10 would be 1000L or 1 cubic Metre.
I expect 1 metre will do you, they tend to make sure ou have a metre by taking a big scoop, so you'll probably get 10.2 or 10.3
So you should be good.
