I bought one of your benders last fall, but it got cold here before I could use it.

Are there ideas for building on un-level ground? I have a slope that would work for a good southern exposure, but there is a grade and it would be quite costly to level & fill.

Keep the top level and extend the legs, then just fill in the bottom ie between the posts so you can get a cover over; depends on the slope of course. :)

My new bender was on the doorstep when I got home this evening. Put my design on paper for a 16 x 32. When I get better at sketchup I will post in my system thread.

Sleepe has a good plan, it will work, for sure the most economical..

Also a southern facing slope is ideal. Though a good bit of work is involved, one could cut into the high side of slope, move that material towards the low side. This type of installation, because it sets partially into the earth provides a great thermal heat sink on the uphill side. If it's rock however, can be costly. I have much the same here, with a great site on south side of a hillside, soil here is mostly loose iron ore and clay, not bad for digging. I plan to nest a 400 sq ft greenhouse into the bank, as soon as I complete the other 200 projects ahead of it. May have to speed it up though, due to increasing cost of food.

will the bender work for any size greenhouse? I have looked into them before but i always got the impression that they only bend the pipe to a certain hoop size.
Thanks for any help

I think 3' diameter hoops are the biggest he makes, but they can be any length. You can also build them side by side.

Those pictures certainly look like the hoops are more than 3' diameter. A 3' diameter hoop house would only be about a foot and a half tall unless it had a stem wall.

Did you mean to say 30' diameter? that would make about 30' wide by 15' tall.

Yep, typo, should be 30'.
