Hello I am very, very new. I am an American in Manila putting the parts together for my first system.

I am looking for a timer that runs on 60 cycle and 240 volts. Yes I know it is the only country in world with 240/60 but I am here so that is what I need.

I am looking for a timer for a flood and drain system. two bed. So the pump is not huge.

I love this Forum been lurking here over a year now I am ready to get started.

P.S. is Panhead is a type of Harley I love and not for wearing pans on my head. lol

Any timer that works on 240 / 50 Hz will work on 240 / 60.
The only difference being (depending on how they make it) it may be 20% faster...
may also be fine.
If you buy a digital timer it will be fine, as they will rectify the 240 down to 12 or 5 or something, so it will make no difference.
Arlec sell a half decent timer that Food&Fish is always spruking. We can get it cheap from a mega hardwars store over here called Bunnings.

Thanks that is great. I know the Cycles will mess me up but the pickings here are not good in the Philippines. I am also looking at U.S. timers (115 volts but 60 cycles so I could just run it on a step down transformer here.

I know I will have lots of questions as I set up the system but this forum is a life saver.

any electric supply house will have "intermatic" brand timeclocks and their weatherproof housings. i know they will work for 220v and up
as we used to install them to turn on parking area lighting

im just not sure how many on/off cycles they can do? they are mechanical and use a small screw on type tab you affix to the dial
at proper time.

im guessing that as many tabs as you can attach is how many cycles it can perform. all the ones we installed only came with 2 tabs though

i did find a intermatic digital in 115v so maybe they now market a 220v in digital also?

Don't buy a 110... the losses in your step down tranny are downright sinful.
Plus. Most of these timers use the power they're switching, so then you pump would have to be 110 too, and that really sux.
Get yourself a 220V-250V timer, it will work, just depends on if it keep accurate time or not, but that shouldn't worry you anyhow.

Thanks to all. I sent e-mails to several companys and now just wait. intermatic timers look good. But I have to see if they have an office here in the Philippines. Omron makes a few that can do almost anything but cost more then a Harley.
