Hi Anyone got any good resources on how to fit GreenHouse Plastic film to a hooped Green house. I started but can't seem to get the nice smooth finish and tension right. Regards, Ron |

It'll have to wait a couple of weeks then, I brew got about 6 slabs , but will have a keg system next week, Already got the christening brew started. I played around with it again this morning, Not perfect but doesn't look to bad fairly taught minimal creases suspect it will flatten itself out with age. The main problem I had I started with the least square corner ( the part they cut from the roll), Laid the film out fully open found the 3 machine cut ends, then left plenty of leah way at the ends to trim. Thanks Ron |

Ideally a 2-3 person job Ron. We fixed ours to one end after drilling aluminium stripping to the end hoop. We then wedged the plastic in between this and the plastic lock in cover line that ran the legth of the hoop. This meant we had one end anchored. Then got things nice and tight in the middle and fixed to the base with the clips in the stripping. Moved towards the end that had not been anchored, clipping at the base and stretching. On that end ran more aluminium stripping over the hoop, drilled it to the hoop, plastic in and stripping cover to lock things into place. Then back from the middle towards the end that was originally anchored and retensioned and clipped through to that end. Leave 10-15cm on each end so you can retension down the track if things start to get a bit flabby. The clincher was doing this on a 30C day in November. If you can get it tight then, it will remain tight during cooler periods when the plastic contracts a little. Hope this helps. |

You have a lot of options for fastening the plastic, whether it be the really cool clips, tray, or just staples in wood. The thing to remember is that plastic has a fair amount of elasticity and will stretch a lot when it's hot out. If you install it on a hot day and pull it tight, you'll be having some problems with it in the winter when it shrinks. |

yep, be careful not to tighten it on a hot day. we have done that and it has torn in the cold as it shrinks. lesson learned: tight plastic looks good, but a bit loose will last longer |

I have had no problem with duratough from Redpaths. It costs a bit more but has shown no signs of tearing this winter. |
