Quote: what are they ment for? the white pipe is also called DWV - drain, water ant vent - a multi-purpose pipe in numerous diameters which is safe to use with potable water. what info do you have on the gray pipes (what and where they are used) |

some of the smaller white pvc pipes might also be called pressure pipe (this is usually thinwall pipe) or there is the sch 40 pvc pipes that are often also called drinking water pipe here. |

hello aquamad! they are used for transporting chemicals and stuff, PVC-U http://www.betaplast.si/html/foto_galer ... strija.htm this is the firm that i was visiting today, and i got their catalouges. earthbound said that 1-2$ per elbow or pipes is the rule of thumb and betaplast qualifies those demands, but they don't have the DWV pipes or fittings, at least not in the white color i did see those DWV pipes in WALMART(Bauhaus in slovenia), but they had only bigger diameters, starting at 80mm, used for ventilation i also found simmilar white pipes used for toilet siphons, but they don't sell elbows that could be cemented the only ones i could use are the ones i found today, but i really do wish for the white ones, for heating reasons mostly and i bet they'r cheaper then the gray ones |

all that stuff looks like it is pressure pipe - usually if they have ones to handle a range of chemicals they should have drinking water safe ones too. they do look a little expensive |

well the guy there told me the folks use those for aquariums. the 3/4" valve is around 15$ - 10 eur the 3/4" pipes(6bar working pressure) are 1,2 $ - 0,8eur the 3/4 elbows cost 1,2 $ and they are non corrosive to acids and stuff, and they state to be drinking water safe, so they can be safely used no doubt about it GF(Georg Fisher) is the manufacturer i'll check the walmart and see where they get the white pvc venting pipes from |
