saw this used as a saw dust cyclone, I rekon it would work as and aquaponic swirl filter, just add a drain valve on the bottom. what do you think?

So it's a traffic cone and a bucket which collects the solids.

Nice idea and would probably work for a small system but not for one as big as, say, a pool.

thanks Skeggley, for sure and the pressure rating of the bucket lid would be inadequate, maybe one of those big hwy cones and bolts through the collection bucket as well!

Cool concept. I agree it will need scaling up and many refinements to be effective for an AP system.
