Hi Friends Can anyone point me in the direction of something i can use to suck the muck and debris from the bottom of my tanks with out draining them? I recently added another media bed with clay balls and i after a week in use the extra dirt from the balls has finally settled at the bottom of the IBC tank and Sump tank. I haven't added fish to the system yet as it is a new system but i want to make sure the water is clean before i do this? |

you can use a siphon, use the end to vaccuum the bottom. i've used 25mm PVC pipe, heat flattened one end to a narrowish oval. The other end I fitted with a typical snaplock garden fitting connected to some tubing, get the siphon running and vaccuum with runoff to the garden, or through a filter sock (couple of layers on stocking) and you can keep the water. |

Get a pond cleaner. That's all I use. Got mine from bunnings works a treat when the center of the tank gets a bit mucky. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk |
