I may be trying something too difficult when there is an easier way.

I want to have a series of 200 L drums that will have a soil based mixture in them and grow various plants in slots out the side.

I plan of using a solar pump that will flow water into these drums 2/3 times a day.

I want to keep this soil mix damp enough for growing and was thinking of removing excess water through an overflow pipe back into a main tank.

But... I would love to be able to turn these drums via turntables I have, but how to I have the pipe out the base stay in one place when the drum rotates..

There is a seal type thing but cannot think of what I am after.

Perhaps something like "Chemical spill trays" to catch drained water

https://www.globaltanks.com.au/product/ ... pill-tray/

I built a horse saddle stand that rotated , took 12 saddles big heavy thing

Built it out of a Landcruiser wheel and tyre for the base , hub and then stub axel pointing up

So you could put wheel in spill tray (cut off shuttle) mount barrels on top , hook the trays together drained back to a sump

Push bike sprockets and chain

Or buy some mirrors and put behind the barrels

Assuming you are not wanting to send your plants on a carousel ride just use an excess of flexible pipe that will allow them to turn once (like garden hose). :)

Hi Tonzz,

Just a bump to see what you ended up with. Did you settle for a lazy susan-like swivel at the base, or a free spinning top suspension point?
Grow towers?
