Hi Chris, see no-one answered this. Try the search as it does pop up a bit but mostly is not typical of AP setups. |

I have seen it used. They took out the sand and filled with bio balls. |

Bio balls were expensive last time I checked, sand is a lot more economical. If it works. |

It was used for a K2 filter. |

Filter sand is a lot more expensive than normal washed sand. |
