Hello everyone,

If this is a duplicate, please point me to the new one and I'll delete this.

I'm looking at a CHOP (constant height fish tank, one pump) system. It'll be small for now (~30 gallons), but i'll upsize when I move to a place with more room. The fish tank on top, the grow bed at an intermediate level, and a sump tank at the bottom.

I was hoping to find a single-piece circular fish tank with a conical bottom that drains to a SLO. I'm imagining something like a funnel with a goose-neck spout. One-piece blown glass or food-grade glazed ceramic would be ideal, because I'm trying to keep plastic to a minimum (personal preference).

Any ideas? Has anyone seen anything like this?

Thanks,

I not certain exactly what you're looking for but the first thing that came to mind was a separatory funnel (https://www.google.com/search?q=separatory+funnel&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjw6tOe5_bVAhUV9WMKHfc4DWEQ_AUICigB&biw=1120&bih=558&dpr=1.71), a bit small for your needs though.

A lot of things like this are going to be pretty expensive and you probably won't find them in glass. Here's something in stainless steel but of course it's pretty steep and may not be what you want exactly - http://www.beveragefactory.com/homebrew/fermentation/blichmann-fermenator-conical-npt-27.html.

Hi Scotty,

Thanks for the ideas. Yeah, I'm basically looking for what you would get if a separtory funnel and that brewing tank had a baby.

I'm going to try to link a picture below:

I'm going to swing by a glass-blowing studio in a few days to see if it's something they would be able to make. I'm sure they'll tell me that it'll be a lot more than I can afford, though.
