Best bang for your buck is still HID lighting (High pressure sodium or Metal halide).

Top end LED's are giving good results with veggies, but are extremely expensive, usually around 5x or 6x the price of an HID light kit that will cover the same area and achieve the same results. Low end LED's aren't worth a pinch of goat sh!t.

T8 flouros aren't really of any use. T5HO flouros are okay for growing smaller leafy greens, lettuce, Asian greens, herbs etc, if mounted close to the plants.

Check into MEIZHI led grow lights. On Amazon but cheapest is eBay. I have 5 in use now and am about to order another. Growing strawberries, hot peppers, bell peppers, tomatoes, onions, carrots and lettuce. All doing excellent. All my pics are to big or I would upload a few.

Does anyone else have experience with the Meizhi led? The MEIZHI LED seems to be comparable to other lights price wise. For a 450 watt meizhi costs $ 179 and Pentair has induction grow lights 100 watts for $500.
What sort of wattage should I be looking at?
I have to be careful how I wire things as I am already maxing my amps due to all my pumps.
