I am going to buy trout and need to keep them around 50F. I am going to build a insulated outdoor tank with a heater. I have sourced a heater but I need a thermostat that isn't expensive. Does anyone have any thoughts? I tried to find a heater with a built in thermostat but they all seem to have 68 as a lowest temperature. |

I use this one from Inkbird. It's inexpensive and reliable (so far). I did have one loaded with a 1000 watt heater and after 6 months the receptacle melted. So I rewired it to operate a 30 amp relay ($4), and now I use it to control up to 3000 watts. |

This is what I used a little more DIY. They make them for 220, 110 or 12 Volt. Temperature Measuring Range: -50~210 F https://www.amazon.com/Inkbird-All-Purp ... ds=Inkbird Here it is with a video on how to build it. viewtopic.php?f=18&t=24884&start=585#p547862 |
