Post subject:  Cleaning IBC's Containing very alkaline fluid
I just got in 8, 330 gallon totes and im wondering if there were any tips to cleaning them. I had planned to powerwash and let them soak for a while. They contained a soap to wash vehicles, this is from the companies page.

"An Alkaline, medium foaming liquid detergent formulated for use in touch free truck and transit vehicle wash facilities. Penetrates and loosens road film, bug residues, soot, diesel fuel, grease and oil. Rinses easily leaving a film free shiny surface. Contains no phosphates or acids. Recommended use is through our automated chemical application system, but can also be used in prep areas, degreasing, wheel and tire cleaning. Compatible with water reclaim systems."

Since it's a detergent it should be fairly easy to get rid of this using water and there shouldn't be any visible residue - keep cleaning if there is. I'd do multiple rinses, at least 3 but probably more. Alkaline solutions usually feel greasy so if you notice any parts that are still feeling greasy or are still getting suds, then I'd just keep at it. It does contain sodium hydroxide, I'm not sure what concentration so just to be safe I'd avoid contact as the instructions on the container state.
