Does anyone have experience with blowers ? i have found a range of these and as iam in the market for another air pump i wondered if these are worth trying, quoted output for the 2 inch is 192m3 per hour, slightly more power usage but a much greater output...

They would be useless in aquaponics they would be flat out blowing down to 6 in deep |

I may be way off here, but as long as the water is being circulated by other means wouldn't you only need the air to be bubbling to just below surface to get oxygenation? Honest question. |

Looks a bit like a bouncy castle blower Andy, if I get a chance I will test one and let you know. BTW are you going to try fulvic acid as part of your foilar feed brix test? I would have put this on your system thread however there appears to be a little *sigh* going on there. |

Honest question. By all means experiment There has been great innovations in aquaponics made over the last 10 years by people experimenting If you do kindly post your results good or bad |

Yes they do just a much smaller version,i found a 2,3 and four inch but coming from China there is scant information, made me smile in the instruction pamphlet,Ideal for Home,Furnace and around the office, quite a range really,i reckon they will have a great output volume wise but any back pressure will kill them dead, shame reall as the 2inch is reasonably priced. Fulvic acid Sleepe seems impossible to get here in the LOS,i still have a short list of items still not tracked down,i have some things i want to try now i am back up and running fully again. By way a belated Happy new year Sleepe and many many many thanks for the favour it really has been so useful.... |

No worries Andy, and a belated happy New Year to you and the family. ATM I am still not convinced that you cannot get some depth out of those blowers as bouncy castles work by bleeding air through the fabric/seams so they have to maintain some pressure. I know its probably a surface area thing but I am not likely to be convinced until I try it. BTW your system is looking good. Edit One use I thought for them was powering a fogger using a simple venturi to draw water in. |

Iam sat on the fence,i need two 60lpm air pumps two because of the distance between them, one of these is for the second DWC,each will have a 60lpm airpump,my thinking behind the blower was use the blower for the DWCs,then the pump i have can be moved over to the other location. The blower will have to manage 120 lpm through 14 large airstones, well it certainely has the output but as Food&Fish posted if it wont do 15 inch depth in the troughs its of little use.Shame they wont let me borrow one to try it..... on the other hand if i do buy it and try it out i will have concrete evidence one way or another, might be useful information for others in the future. Thanks sleepe its getting there, its gone cold here overnight so everything has slowed down growth wise, water temps down to 18c so the fish are only eating half of what i want them to,but i sold my first lettuce yesterday at twice the local dirt grown lettuce price.... |

There are dedicated aquatic blowers but they are expensive and are expensive to run all of the big boys use them I have seen one running 30 air stones in a fish hatchery |

I think Milne is correct with the original blowers. Although I have not tried it all indications are that they produce v large CFM at v low pressure. |
