Hi guys. Another neat plumbing thing I was looking at today, "EZ-Span" PVC couplings. I am going to convert my four flood&drain siphon beds to operate off a single "U-siphon", and I saw this EZ-Span coupling at Home Depot when I was buying fittings. It's like a union but one half of it can actually slide about 3-4" out. It looked like a great way to adjust the height of my U-siphon. These are sold as repair parts, e.g. if you have to cut into a straight line to repair a leak or puncture, you can easily glue half the union then extend the other half to fill whatever you need. They have a "plunger" with double Buna-N O-ring seals, which should have a really long lifespan. I'm too lazy right now to resize and upload images, sorry. https://www.dropbox.com/s/b6ed3nfn088iqsm/2015-08-15%2021.12.45.jpg?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/j18xi26hmbpuvhs/2015-08-15%2021.13.32.jpg?dl=0 |

Slip fixes have been around for a decade or more in the irrigation industry. Great things to have on a service truck. Can save your butt in certain situations. Particularly around valves, where the other option is replacing an entire manifold. They last a long time. |
