I wouldn't recommend it.

It's a 800W pump, for 5500LPH. And I don't think it's designed for continual use, very high head, but not continual use..

Just for comparison, my pump is 70W, and pushes 8000LPH, and will cost me $180 per year to run.

Look for a pond pump.

Buying a good energy efficient pump will usually pay for itself in about a year or two verses the cheaper pumps. You can figure it out if you know your electric rate. I've had pretty good luck with the Laguna Max-Flo pumps, I have three of them and no problems with any of them so far (Oldest is around 4 years I think). Yes they are more expensive to begin with but will save you money. There are other energy efficient pumps to choose from, do a search on the forum, plenty of info to get you started.
