Use a bulkhead or make one using male and female threaded PVC pipe. |

Right I just figured a UNISEAL should work and it's cheap, if it leaked probably wouldn't matter as my design had most over the sump anyway. THANKS |

No worries Nice thing about bulkheads and threaded PVC is you can dismantle easily for whatever reason, uniseals are a bit of a pain sometimes. BTW if you use PVC no glue inside the GB, and externally just a thin wipe of silicone. |

I used a uniseal on the last two beds I built. Worked well and no leaky. If the drain is over the sump, doesn't matter. If it drips a bit, the water stays in the system. I don't think it matters either way. If you are buying bulkheads, uniseals are cheaper. If you are making bulkheads, that is cheaper still. |

I've used both, I'd go for a uniseal over the bulkhead fitting. Mostly for cost. If the uniseal is installed correctly, it won't leak. Plus they are half the price, more so when you get bigger ones. |
