Use a bulkhead or make one using male and female threaded PVC pipe. :)

Right I just figured a UNISEAL should work and it's cheap, if it leaked probably wouldn't matter as my design had most over the sump anyway. THANKS

No worries

Nice thing about bulkheads and threaded PVC is you can dismantle easily for whatever reason, uniseals are a bit of a pain sometimes. BTW if you use PVC no glue inside the GB, and externally just a thin wipe of silicone.

I used a uniseal on the last two beds I built. Worked well and no leaky.

If the drain is over the sump, doesn't matter. If it drips a bit, the water stays in the system.

I don't think it matters either way. If you are buying bulkheads, uniseals are cheaper. If you are making bulkheads, that is cheaper still.

I've used both, I'd go for a uniseal over the bulkhead fitting. Mostly for cost. If the uniseal is installed correctly, it won't leak.

Plus they are half the price, more so when you get bigger ones.
