Post subject:  Can I use this IBC

Hi all. I got the opportunity to buy an IBC here on the island (finaly)

Thing is, there is not much information on the panel. There was some thick liquid in there that is used to mix with concrete. A superplasicizing admixture.

Maybe Amy of you can cutoffs or I'd this is usable? Added a picture. Hope you guys can help me.

P.S. i hope this is in the right section. If not my apologies.

That's a tough one because it doesn't actually say what it is :dontknow: . Might want to contact the manufacturer, explain what you're doing and see what they say (if they think it would be OK to use for this) and perhaps see if they have an MSDS (Materials Safety Data Sheet) you can look at. They may not want to say or they may not be sure but it's worth a shot.

I think the NPD label next to Dangerous Substances means No Performance Determined - doesn't necessarily mean it's bad news :dontknow:

+1 contact till man at www.tillman.nl and request the MSDS. The toxicological data section will say if it is hazardous to fish. Their brochure didn't have any more information.

Thanks both for the reply. I send Tillman an email yesterday so it's waiting for an answer now.

I normally go by the poisoning label. If taken induce vomiting is a no no! wash mouth is ok! If you have seek medical attention, another no no! medical advice is an ok? I think from memory Frans original system had diesel oil in it. She gave it a good wash. She ran it for a few years until, the pipes blocked and rust set in. well that’s what I saw and was said to me back in June when I first went to BYAP. Strange that I can remember things like they happened just minutes ago? But I can forget things some times.

:dontknow:

Best not to be flippant about what was stored in a container. Your fish will be absorbing any and all toxins then when you eat them passing it to you. Harmful chemicals have a way of building up in our systems.

I've been told it can affect memory.

Wait for the information.

I sent an email to Tillman via there web page: http://www.tillman.nl/CB/CBM%20UK/vragen.htm

asking them if the container would be safe to use for fish and/or drinking water.

they didn't seem to have an MSDS online.

didn't know what the "dangerous substance NPD" was:
