I was thinking about how well the white fish boxes insulate against temperature change. You could join a heap together an make a lid for a pond. Yea maybe insulate sides as well but midday heat is what nails ponds here. Figure a styrofoam box lid isn't gonna be too heavy. I like the idea of chilled air, it's probably not that efficent, but with a lid insulating it and just the ease of supplying chilled air to lots of tanks in combo with running filtration. The airpump could be running in a room that doubles as a cold storage room, or a small insulated 'fridge' building.... shame i don't have a mine shaft to throw one down. |

Sounds like a great idea. Do you have the foam board stuff available? Kinda like in the link. It may be cheaper and easier than the box lids. http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?action=p ... lpage=none |
