guys Looking for thoughts around how to best lay out aeration lines in 2 x 2k FTs. Currently, I've just got 1 large blue aeration stone per pump and its churning nice. They pump about 2.2k of air per hr. Now, if I add another stone to each, it almost stops on the second. I see some using pic or 13mm poly, how is this payed out? Pictures or links would be great if possible. I would like to split some of this out for digester etc down the track Am I missing something here? Cheers. |

Quote: ....2 x 2k FTs..... What shape... that might suggest a layout... With round - in the center, gives perfect circulation.. I would have thought that much air would have been "Enough" I run common garden hose from my garage to a 6Way manifold at the tanks.. I plan to change to PE hose ASAP I guess if you are looking for ideas, then setup photos would be a good start. .. . |

Created good circulation, sweeping debris to the center.. and I used VERY old garden hose, so as to avoid the large amounts of plasticisers, leaching from newer hose.. IF - adding a stone, does strange things, then clearly there is not enough pressure, remembering that the deeper the stone, the greater the AIR pressure needed to make bubbles. Push one stone deeper and another might just deliver ALL the available air.. So similar stones should be at similar depths.. .. . |
