A bit of soap / detergent works well and rinses off nice and clean. |

I drench the pipe and uniseal in rubbing alcohol. You have limited time so put a mark on the standpipe to let you know when you are at the correct height. Once you get it started, keep going until you hit your mark. Good luck! |

Boiling water will soften the pipe (you may need to cut a bit off once its through). Some detergent or window cleaner will help as well (just rince it off when done). Also using a t piece on the end you are pushing will allow you to get a better grip on the pipe. |

I used a food safe orange oil. It's used to oil chopping board. Worked like a treat, and gave me plenty of time to work it. I had it lying around from a previous project. |

KY Jelly its also good for getting wiring grommets in cars. Edit Also put a slight chamfer on the end of the pipe you are sliding through. |

Bevel the end and coat with dish washing liquid. The only ones that have ever taken any real effort are the 4" uniseals. |
