I'd like to see if anyone uses one of these and what they think of it. The main reason I haven't started an outside garden in years and have gone to AP is TIME! Spending 15-30 minutes a couple of time s a week to check the levels in my tank is something I'd like to eliminate. I've been looking at a 6 in 1 Water testing Meter - ph ppm temp tds ec cf ...... I'm not sure what tds, ec and cf are either. Any help would be greatly appreciated! |

Only need to monitor ph weekly once a system is established in my opinion - and may be less so if you have buffering such as shells in a water return. I would just get a good ph probe and buy some cheap digital aquarium thermometers. EC/TDS etc are for hydro and can be difficult to interpret meaningful reults in an AP context. There are no cheap reliable probes for nitrite/ammonia as far as I'm aware. |

as far as im aware ammonia, nitrite and nitrate are just about impossible to measure with a probe. ive never seen one in use in aquaculture. We have to test all 3 with a colorimeter everyday, quite labour intensive and expensive, if there was a probe to replace it im sure we would have it. tds would be total dissolved solids and ec would be electrical conductivity i guess, neither of which are very useful but are almost always requested for government monitoring. |
