One of the visitors today said 24 or 26 gauge SS sheet is being used in aquaculture operations, and it would be cheaper for Aquaponics. Has anyone used SS for tank or grow bed before? |

Sure, Nannoo. Not me though, I couldn't afford it and have to stick with IBC's and good old concrete. But there will be enough members here that use or have used SS sheets for tanks and grow beds. While you're at it, check out LDX2101. Cheaper and of at least the same quality as SS, even stronger too. Are you planning to advice your Indian rural clients to use SS sheet for their setups? |

If you mean Galvanised steel tanks...then yes.... that it's the way I've build my FT for many reason: 1) cheaper than PVC tanks or fiberglass 2) modular so it can be customised to suit your need 3) flat packed it can be TRANSPORTED IN A CAR!!!! 4) it can be scrapped to be used a roof shelter 5) it won't crack open or brake easy! Galvanised steel tank are the way to go! |

Do you use a liner bioaquafarm? I thought zinc coatings were a no-go? |

Butyl liner it's a must with any steel tank! At least 1mm thick. They come with boxed liner, which means snug fit and no wrinkles or creases (plus lifetime warranty) |

That's a great price. I wonder if I can find any in this area? How are they shipped "flat". They come un- assembled? |
