Post subject:  White Pearl coloured fish tank

Hi guys,

I am building an Aquaponics setup at the moment an the fish tank I have bought is a white pearl colour. It is not clear however in the sun it is very bright.

The question is. Will it let too much light in and cause algae to grow?

I am keen for some advice as if you think it will be a problem I cam always paint it.

Thanks

A standard IBC will grow algae well if not painted or bordered with something so yes, you will require something to darken the FT.

Yeah, i've used the black coloured IBCs in the past as these seem to be best for preventing algae. However, obviously you've already got it so yes i'd paint it.

Thanks guys.

My tank is a new poly aqua culture tank which is the only reason i asked the question.

Looking at how bright the white was in the sun I had a feeling that unless i was going to keep it in a shed it would need to be painted.

Thank you again for the advice.
