On my new setup I have had 3 uniseals leak. They are a pain to replace. Is this a normal ocurrance? Does it mean that my hole is to rough? Maybe Im damaging it pushing the pvc in? Any input would be welcomed. Im considering changing the problem areas with bulkhead fittings. Thoughts? Pershing |

Where is the leak? if there is still burring, then yes it would have been smart to remove it, like usual. did you use the right size holesaw? Tried wiggling them? i think Paul said if they leak to hit the pipe with something. <- cant remember exactly. |

Could also be if there's any pressure on the pipe in a direction, causing the rubber to compress on one side. |

you can silicone/glue uniseals too if really needed. |

Interesting comments. Thanks all. 1) Right hole saw for sure. 2) I debured it, I used a combination of utility knife for the second skin rim and metal file for the sides of the hole. However when I run my fingers is not smooth, its flat but not perfectly, wondering if I should sand paper it? 3) There is a little side pull since I had to move some pipes around. Im considering adding a ball valve and quick disconnects to make servicing easier, since hammering out elbows is taking a toll. 4) I did consider using fish safe aquarium silicone under the uniseal. Still debating. 5) Its hard to tell exactly, not sure if is through the pvc facing wall or the tank facing wall. Its pointing down so the drops just roll to the same spot. 6) Will try to post a pic, but is under the tank and no good angles, but will see what I can do tonight. Thanks for all your comments. Do not use tungsten tipped hole saws as they over size the holes enough for leaks. Photos best, you can also have problems on compounded barrels when you try to go in where both curves are. |

So I noticed the panel under the bed was misaligned by not even a 1/4" but I made it bigger to prevent bending the standpipe. I also added a little bit of aquarium silicone to help the lip seal against the bottom. I don't think I see the drip anymore, not as bad as it was. However in the process I think the other one started dripping. If I have to dig out and deal with these will undo all the cycling process, so I hope they last at least a year before that happens. Beginning to question the use of uniseals and 1 piece of standpipe rather than the threaded push in standpipe method which I have used on my previous tests. Time will tell. Pershing |

Never used one. Never will. I just fail to see how a uniseal can provide a good long lasting leak proof seal. |

I don't see a uniseal lasting through 1 good Texas summer. I would rather spend a little more money, do a little more work, and have a hell of a lot more peace of mind that it isn't going to leak. |

Do car tyres survive in texas or are you guys all on tank tracks? if a car tyre will survive, a uniseal will survive. |

If they can survive here and in the north of Australia your low heat will not bother them. |

I've had more leaks from my tank fitting going into the curve on the side of the tank than any of my uni-seals (not had any leaks with uni-seals), even with the tank fitting cranked right up! Had to revert to Sikaflex in the end. |
