Thinking of twintragics with all those bath tubs .
First run your fish water threw 1 or 2 grow beds that gives a continuous supply of filtered water

How would you go putting a pressure pump in your sump to every thing else
That gives a supply of 20 to 30 psi water then use standard 24 volt irrigation solinoids around $20 to supply the other beds in sequence .Once the valve opens it will blow out all the scum in the pipe

Les or steve can work out the timers

We all know once the system is running all the water has the same neutrients
It dosent mater how many pumps you use [one pump running i hr moves 1000 litre 10 pumps running for 5 min moves 1000litre[this is an example]

We use solinoids extensively at work. they shit me to tears :!:

DO NOT BUY CHEAP ONES. I have made this mistake and with huge losses. Water is filtered! problems occur when they refuse to open completely, or at all. If you fork out for some quality then you shouldn't have a problem but if you can avoid them all together then DO IT!!

KISS

i guess running alot increases the chances of one stuffing up...doesn't reduce the consequences though

Thanks for ur thoughts FF. I would want to do some electrical background stuff b4 giving it a crack i reckon. I just wouldn't have the confidence to bring a system on line with for eg Les's actuator setup atm. If it crapped out, i would want to have the technical expertise to right the ship straight away.

I already have the 2 pumps and feel reasonably confident about getting them working together. I think i will stump up for a plug and go connector to convert the sump pump to a float switch, no re-wiring. Only bringing 8 bathtubs on line to start so will play with the pump cycle to get that firing. Can't imagine it will take more than a few minutes to fill 2000lt of gbs.

With any sort of luck we will get things cycling b4 the end of the month and complete the gh as this is going on. Nearly there!
