I got some blue barrels the other day, although they did not have the large threaded plugs in them.

I thought the plugs I had left over from the last lot of barrels I cut up would work, though they do not fit (top of plug catches on lip before thread engages). Does anyone know where I can get some in Perth?,

OR

another method of plugging the hole as I wish to cut he drums horizontally to make two 100L plant pots per drum.

One of the bungs on mine fits a 50mm? threaded adaptor from bunnings, the other doesn't. I had a few lying around. No, thats right, it was the threaded section from a 50mm coupling. I then put in some pipe and a valve.

Yeah - these are a very course threaded, not the fine thread that comes on DWV or pressure pipe. Or did you mean a different type?

I have some with coarse thread, and some with fine. I'll see if I can find a part number tonight. But I know it didn't fit my other hole, so...?? There might be a solution on irrigation pipe (black poly?) instead.

Hiya Matt, you're right there seems to be a different thread in each barrel, I have 4 barrels, all different! No one believes in standardisation now days. Put a photo up of the mating thread in the bb.
