I'm putting together parts for a 12V solar system and was wondering what type of circuit breakers are best for this application. I'm leaning toward these: http://www.delcity.net/store/Quick-Conn ... 7AodXB8Arg I assume I'll want one between the battery and pump, but should probably have one between the panel and controller and/or controller and battery, right? Also, is there a difference between AC and DC circuit breakers? |

The circuit breakers meant for boats work on 12v and 110, with a few tht only do 12v. I am not a fan of the push button breakers myself. I prefer the toggle style, as it is easier to see if it tripped. |

those breakers should be fine i would put them at each point you have mentioned but at least to any wire attaching directly to your battery positive terminal in the past i have wired up LED pilot lights across breakers so that when 'blown' the light illuminates showing that there is a problem |

As far as I am aware the DC breakers have gruntier contacts and move a bit quicker (could be wrong on that though) |

Any links to examples of DC toggle-style breakers? Would it be poor practice to just use 15 A breakers meant for household (120 V) AC, since they are cheap and readily available? |
