| Post subject: | Owens Corning Foamular for Raft |
Long time reader, first time poster. Normally I find my answers on this forum but for this I couldn't seem to find someone who'd already asked, so finally needed to register. Home Depot sells this extruded polystyrene sheet (XPS) called "Owens Corning Foamular" which seems to be a pink version of Dow's Blue Board. Lowes has a better deal on the Dow brand so I'll probably go with that, but I was just curious. It seems to be the exact same product as the Dow Plastic stuff except for color and Price. I'm fairly new to aquaponics myself and the research I did comparing Dows blue board to Ownes pink board they appeared to be extremely similar - so much so my floating raft has the Ownes pink board mostly because Home Depot had a better deal then Lowe's did. If nothing else I can say from their growth that my kale, chard and lettuce don't mind the pink board. Sadly, I didn't save the searches for the technical data but its out there if you feel the need to dig it up. |
