They are bulky and awkward but I don't have any problems moving them on my own with a trusty $19.95 Bunnings trolley.

I'm hoping to pick up a few IBCs next week but wanted to know how much do they weigh? Loading into the van should be OK at the supplier end (forklift) but at home it will just be me and gravity. |

No more than 30 kgs I reckon ! Lifting out the back of a van onto the ground should b fine, a little awkward at worst. Once on the ground remove the plastic liners, & move separately .... That's what I did. Good luck, have fun ! SD2 |

I haven't weighed them, but I'd guess something like 40 kg with bladder, cage and base. They're possible to manhandle by yourself, but they are quite cumbersome. |

Thanks for the responses. I figured that I'd have to disassemble them for cutting, painting etc and could move the bits on a trolley (once I remove a timber fence), it was just the getting them out of the van that concerned me. I can get 3 in the van so that's what I'll start with.

I put 4 on a 6x4 trailer by myself - had to let the front gate down and stack them 2 high. Lifting the top row up was a bit of a bugger but fairly easy with leverage and using basic skills. Depends how high the van is but they are pretty simple to stack and easy to move - they are designed to be. They stack inside each other so you will need to lift the edge if you stack one on the other, but only a few cms. I doubt they'd be 40kg - getting them out of the van is easy enough - just lift one edge, pull it and let it roll out towards you as you step back. If you find it a bit heavy let it slide down, then roll it sideways to where you want it. If you keep the momentum going as you roll it there is very little effort needed. |

Van bed is 4.2m x 1.2m between the wheel wells so won't need to stack the IBCs. I have ramps so sliding each tank out should work plus I could press the overhead hoist into service in a pinch. |

Note the IBC's are not exact cubes - one length is longer and they are normally a few cms more than 1m high. - so you should be able to get 4 in the van by placing them long side across and 4 x short sides should be less than 4.2m. How high is the roof? I ask because you said 3 will fit in the van so that is what you will run with - if you could get more...? You'd want maybe 2.5m high though, or a bit more, to stack them 2 high. |

I've been assuming IBC dimensions of 1200x1000x1100 when working out what I can fit in to the van. Unfortunately, 2 metres is too high, I can stand up in the back but I'm only 188cm tall  3 will probably fit better with the wallet too. |

they fit snugly in a 7 x 5 single-axle trailer, with 2 IBCs side by side without needing to drop any tailgates. push the IBCs/slide them off the trailer when you get home. option to roll them (which I didn't), I did exactly what faye suggested, get a cheapo trolley/hand-truck and they'll be easy enough to shift around. one-person job. weight is correct about 30-40kgs each, but lighter with the plastic bases. if concerned about the transport, err on the side of caution, and do multiple trips

Didn't think I could do a straight lift of 60kg's with most of it half a metre out from my body... Mine are all metal base. Me am STRONG!!
