Looking into building my first AP system and pricing materials, ran across fountain pro pumps online, user reviews seemed very good overall but nobody that has tried them in an AP system. They seem super efficient too, the model I am looking at is the WT800p supposedly moves 800gph (about 500gph at 7'3" head) and they claim it draws only 12 watts! I personally don't believe that but even if it drew twice that it would still be one of the best I have seen. Anyone know anything about them? |

Check the head height and the volume of water you need to shift versus the specs of the pump; these small but efficient pumps generally have very poor head. They can move reasonable quantities of water horizontally, but as soon as you need to go up, even a few inches, their performance rapidly degrades. |

http://www.fountainpro.com/ The flow curve hits the 528gph line right at 7'3" head, that I can believe, but the 12 watts I have a REAL hard time with. Don't remember all my formulas for thermal efficiency but that would have to be over 100% |

Yeah that pump performance chart just seems wrong to me... Looks like someone has done a sketch on the basic graph.. According to the chart it pumps 450L/h at 3.5m head and also 0L at the same head... I't just been made up so I wouldn't trust their info to much..
