Gday, Ive been through 3 of the push in style power point timers. THe ones with the rotating unit that you press in the plastic bits for the times you want the pump to run. The power points its plugged into is sometimes faulty, if you turn it on and off it can short and trip the breaker. Ive had my pumps running from that point non stop with no worries, however when i put a timer on there the timer seems to run incredibly slow... its been 2 hours and its barely moved 30mins on the dial, this is the case with 3 different types and brands (all new). Does anyone have any thoughts as to why that may be the case?? Its frustrating that i cant run a flood and drain type system because of this... When i plug the timer into an inside power point it seems to run ok, however its just this outside point (which is an inside point just undercover). You can hear the ticking/movement mechanism when its plugged inside however outside its really slow and can barely hear it (with load or no load). THoughts?? |

Sounds weird... but the fact that you can trip the breaker... with everything else... definitely suggests you need to get a sparkie to look at it... |

If the timer works fine elsewhere there is probably a bad connection somewhere, either the outlet itself, the switch, or the connection to the outlet. You'd need to get an electrician to check the outlet and wiring. |

I would have thought it would be a high priority if electrical switches are faulty. Duty of care should be very high if injury or death was to follow. Worse case scenario. |
