| Post subject: | hex shank and 3-jaw chuck? |
hello - i need some pointers on power drill hardware. i find that I have a set of hex shank screwdriver bits, but the electric drill that I borrowed has a 3-jaw chuck. Is it OK to use or should I get a hex screwdriver, or is there a hex adapter? I do have drill bits that are triangular shank, which I assume will fit the 3-jaw perfectly. Thanks. |

Hex in ur chuck should be fine. A hexagon is just a triangle with the corners cut off after all. I used them all the time. This advice comes with no warrantee. |

thanks - I got another issue the hole saw that I bought, it measures about 1/2 inch across the width of the hex shank. My electric drill chuck seems to open up much smaller than that. do I need to get another drill or can I change the chuck on this (just an old Black & Decker thing) or is it safe to get some kind of adapter for the smaller jaw size? |
