I read a thread where one poster asked about where to get controllers and parts etc. for the system being discussed (I think it was solar DIY) and I went to take a look at the supplier mentioned. The problem was, WesComponents doesn't just give you a web site of their catalogue, you have to sign up to view their products. So I did that - I figured a good supplier it would be worth a few emails to take a look at what they have available.

Once that had been done I took a look around and bookmarked the site for future use.

This morning a courier arrived - I'd been expecting a small package with a couple of USB-To-Go connections for our 2 smartphones but what I got was a parcel weighing in about 2 or more kg.

Opened it up and here is what was in there...

Totally free of charge... I'm wondering how much I can charge them to teach them about PDF's... :D

If they sent you PDFs what would you be able to look at or do when there is a power outage?

I still find the jaycar hard copy easier to search through than the website.

PDF's can be good if they are bookmarked correctly, and are easy to cross reference pages on, but many are hastily thrown together pieces of junk that are barely worth the 1's and 0's used to encode them

All true... I'm just impressed.

To be honest about their online section - the PDF's there are extensive and the index works properly in them. It was more that they sent me hard copy. It's not cheap sending 2+kgs of books and I only looked at the site on Friday arvo - add in Australia Day holiday and it is just impressive service.
